Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023

As you may know, the updated Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) was published last month. The guidance has been created to support multi-agency working to help, protect and promote the welfare of children who are suspected to be suffering, or likely to suffer, significant harm. This includes harm that occurs inside or outside the home, including online.

Chapter 3 addresses Online Harms under the title Providing Help, Support and Protection

This chapter of Working Together to Safeguard Children renews focus on how organisations and agencies provide help, safeguarding and protection for children and their families, across three sections.

  • Section 1: Early Help
  • Section 2: Safeguarding and Promoting the Welfare of Children
  • Section 3: Child protection

 

Section 3 – Child Protection introduces new multi-agency child protection standards, including actions, considerations and behaviours for improved child protection practice. It includes resources to support practitioners’ understanding of the response to online harm as follows:
