Title: Project Manager

Working pattern:  Hybrid (site visits may be required)
Salary: £45,000-£55,000
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Reporting to: Head of Project Services

ABOUT DATASPIRE

Dataspire partners with schools and multi-academy trusts to build dependable, high-performing technology environments. Our work helps schools operate securely and efficiently, while enabling teachers and students to make the most of technology.

We are looking for a Project Manager that has experience of leading Education ICT projects.   You will work closely with Schools, the DfE and Contractors to ensure projects are delivered to our high standards, are on time and in budget.

This is a customer-facing role that may require site visits so a full driving license is essential.

THE ROLE

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects throughout their full lifecycle, from initial planning and mobilisation through to delivery, commissioning, and handover.

You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, coordinating multiple stakeholders while ensuring programmes, budgets, risks, and resources are effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of multiple education technology projects.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Manage client relationships and provide regular project updates.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Chair progress meetings and maintain project documentation.
  • Monitor project performance against agreed milestones and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and project governance requirements.
  • Manage project change control and financial reporting.
  • Support commissioning, handover, and post-project review activities.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll be a confident and organised Project Manager with experience delivering successful projects within education, infrastructure, or technology environments.

You will have excellent communication skills, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven project management experience within education ICT
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, governance, risk, and budget management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage several concurrent projects.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering projects within schools, colleges, academies, or local authority environments.
  • Knowledge of education sector funding or project delivery frameworks.
  • Experience with ICT, AV, networking, or digital transformation projects.
  • SMSTS, SSSTS, or relevant Health & Safety qualifications.
